Text Box: OUR APPRECIATION OF YOUR COMMENTS RE
“LES MOTS-DITS ANGLAIS”

Thank you for your comments regarding the name of our company.
One of our goals has been to break down the barriers within communities.  The strongest tool we have in that battle is a sense of humour.  We use laughter to open hearts and minds to new ways of thinking and learning.  Many students come to us having had terrible experiences trying to learn English in school.  To them, English (and anyone who speaks it) is mysterious, frustrating and incomprehensible.  Often, they are drawn to us because of our name.  They understand our approach and leave with happier feelings about the English language and English-speaking people.  Along with our company name, we use the tag line: “On va finir par les comprendre!”
To reinforce this, we have made great effort to become good corporate citizens, and are known for our dedication and commitment.  Our work within the community crosses traditional, cultural and linguistic lines.  All of our children have attended public schools within the English and French systems in Quebec, and my husband and I have enjoyed teaching here for both English and French school boards.
Over the eight years that we have been operating under the name Académie linguistique LES MOTS-DITS ANGLAIS, very few people have taken offence at our name.  In fact, the response from anglophones and francophones alike has been overwhelmingly positive.  One man, an agent de planification and coordinator of English services for an ASSS in a region with a large anglophone population, himself an anglophone, saw our name and exclaimed, “Finally, a sense of humour about this situation!”
Thank you for letting us know that you really appreciate the PETIT LEXIQUE DE LA SANTÉ ET DES SERVICES SOCIAUX and that it has been well received throughout the CHSSN.
